Thankful

I think after Thanksgiving dinner is the best time to reflect. I had posted earlier this year that I would be trying to write more personal posts, one a month. Well that didn't really happen. For many reasons but mostly because I didn't always want to stop and sit down to write. Throwing together a list of nautical stocking stuffers or sharing a nautical baby shower is a lot easier!

My 6 year blogversary was earlier this month. I completely forgot about it. You can read my first post here and my first Turkey day post here. Wow. At the time I was a college junior and I thought I was SO BUSY. I laugh now thinking how UNTRUE that was. Yes, I was a full time student with a part time job. But that is nothing compared to a 50+ hour a week job and the actual responsibilities that come with post-grad life. But I am thankful I have stuck with blogging. I will do so as long as I love it. I don't see it as work. It has been a way to make friends and to meet new people. Friday I am going to a concert with Leeann. We met through blogging. We both love The Vampire Diaries and decided to meet in person for an event years ago. The rest is history. My holiday card list is probably almost 200 people, all of whom I "know" through blogging. Pretty amazing I would say!

Of course I am also thankful for my family, a job I love, my apartment,  and all of the basics I am so lucky to have.

Hopefully my readers have had a wonderful day and start to the holiday season, filled with friends, family, happiness, and love.

Gift Guide: Baby and Kids

1. Top Chef seafood set (Pottery Barn Kids, $19): I can't believe this is an actual toy but it is just too cute. If you have a mini chef with a taste for seafood then this is perfect
2. Geomag GBaby sea set (Amazon, $29): I've never seen this in person but the video looked really cool. They are magnets that make noise. Baby can put them together and make all noises while an older toddler can create sea creatures
3. Whale shaker rattle (Land of Nod, $10): Adorable addition to a nautical nursery
4. Green Toys Ferry Boat (Amazon, $18): H has this and plays with it every night in the bathtub. I love this brand-they make very durable toys
5. Melissa and Doug Under the Sea puzzle (Amazon, $10): I love puzzles and always have. This under the sea one is very cute and great for preschoolers practicing their puzzle skills
6. Melissa and Doug high sea symphony (Amazon, $15): Your nautical baby will love these musical toys
7. Let's go fishing game (Land of Nod, $25): Who doesn't like to practice fishing inside? Fun rainy day activity
8. Sailboat nod chair (Land of Nod, $130): I want this in adult size
9. Pirate ship rattle set (Anthropologie, $88): Definitely a splurge but it is the holidays after all!

Krass & Co shorts

Back in September Preppy Pink Crocodile posted about these adorable nautical workout shorts from a company called Krass & Co. I immediately bought two pairs.

The pattern I fell in love with

Fast forward to October and I received an email from Krass & Co about doing a giveaway. I bought the shorts and have worn them many times so I can 100% recommend this brand.
