Happy weekend!

Hope everyone has a great weekend and happy mother's day to all the great moms out there! My mom will be here next week and I can't wait!

Here are photos from the Yarra Valley winery tour I did a few weeks ago.

Gettin' Lucky

I REALLY miss reading Lucky magazine. Magazines are super expensive here (cheapest I could find was Cosmo for $7.20!) and I have yet to see Lucky. Hopefully my sister can bring this issue with her when she visits NEXT WEEK! I LOVE Amanda Peet. She is just so cute (and so is her baby) and stylish.

In her interview with the mag she says, “I’m not big into experimenting. Preppy works for me, and I stick with it.”

Just Jared (where I found the photo and quote from above) added: "And it’s true: She has a talent for combining classic, clean-cut items in a way that always looks great"

Amanda was also on the cover of the Dec/Jan issue of Domino magazine.

Weekend recap/Fiesta!

1. I actually found a couple of shirts at the Op Shops (including a red Penguinpolo for $2.99) and will post pictures very soon

2. The Ice Bar was very fun but very cold. I was definitely ready to leave when our 30 minutes were up!

3. I am already getting depressed about leaving Australia (for the record I am done with school the second week of June and returning to CA sometime around June 23).

4. I am going to Gold Coast for a relaxing, warm (winter weather has hit Melbourne) mini-vacation before finals.

5. I am so homesick for good Mexican food! Fortunately my fellow Californian (and Mexican-American) friend is having a Cinco de Mayo party so I can sorta celebrate.

6. My mom and sister will be here in exactly 2 weeks!

7. My new roommate moves in tomorrow. I have been living alone for over 2 weeks so it will definitely be hard to have someone new here. BUT it's only a month and I can stay at the hotel with my fam for a week if I have to.

8. The new episodes of Grey's are starting this SUNDAY! WOOHOO!

Have a great weekend everyone! I am heading out to Melbourne's Ice Bar tonight and then shopping tomorrow. We're hitting up the Op Shops (aka thrift stores) on Sydney Road so hopefully I'll get lucky!

I need this PBTeen elephant to add to my collection. I'm thinking the polka dot one though I like the flower one too.

Pink and green elephants!

Just bought this pink and green elephant tote from J.Crew Crewcuts (I always check their sale stuff too). Not sure how big it is but I just couldn't resist! I also got a Crewcuts hair elastic with elephants on it. I'm hoping I can wear it as a bracelet. I won't have my mom send them here (I am already panicking about fitting everything back in my suitcases!) so I will have to wait until I am home in June to see them.

I think I was lied to!

Maybe it's the season (I think we're between fall and winter?), maybe it was the timing but my highly anticipated shopping trip was a bust (mostly)! I did find the the Lacoste fleece I wanted (for 30% off!). I saw the cutest pink and green big pony polo at Ralph Lauren but it was $120 so that was a no-go. I've tried very hard not to compare the US and Oz or be one of those annoying travelers who thinks everything is better back home. BUT I must admit I was disppointed with this mall. I actually missed Old Navy! This weekend I am going to try some other shopping areas/malls that were recommended to me by some shopaholic Aussie girls in one of my classes.

The fleece is light pink with gray piping. The photos really don't do it justice!

BTW, does anyone have a J.Crew coupon code (FS for any amount)??

PS- The party was so fun! Unfortunately my camera was lost during most of it (someone put their jacket on top of it) so I only got shots in the beginning. I'll post later this week.

Biggest mall in the southern hemisphere?

TGIF! Tonight is my party! I will take tons of pictures of the guests and my amazing decorations (for example, money signs out of foil).

Tomorrow I am going to Chadstone which is supposedly the largest mall in the southern hemisphere. I am beyond excited! I haven't shopped in so long (minus my online purchases), this place gives a 30% discount to international visitors, AND there is a Lacoste and Ralph Lauren!!

Have a great weekend everyone!
