Closet Overhaul: Shoe Challenge

Almost a year ago I organized all of my shoes in my closet. I don't think I have that many pairs BUT I probably have at least a few I don't wear. I am not a fan of shoes. I admit I rotate the same five pairs. They are comfortable and cute. But I have other shoes in my closet that I never wear. Ever. A few weeks ago I wore a pair that had been collecting dust in my closet for over a year. Yikes. I got blisters right away. They weren't comfortable. I immediately donated them.

I am challenging myself to wear a different pair of shoes each day until I have gone through all of my shoes. If they don't fit or give me blisters they are gone. I would also like to see what I need to invest in. I don't think I need any more nautical TOMS (I now have two pairs)! I do need another pair of flip flops after I wore through my beloved elephant ones from J.Crew. I wear a lot of navy but I don't have a go to navy shoe. I will be sharing photos of each pair of shoes on my Instagram and then I will do a blog post at the end with photos and an update.

Has anyone done something like this? Did you rediscover an old favorite?

    1. Do it! I had a shoe rack but most of my shoes fell off because they were flats. If I had more heels or a better shoe rack I would have done that instead of the boxes

  2. Go-to navy shoe: I used to have a pair of Sam and Libby navy ballet flats. I wore them like once a week through college and law school until they developed a hole in the bottom. I had a heck of a time replacing them and never really liked the replacements much. I was in Target last week and the Sam and Libby collaboration has put out ballet flats!(!!!!!) The bow is slightly different on these than the bow mine had (this one is larger) but they're still super cute and $30 for a pair of leather flats. I bought navy, black, and off-white and am contemplating the red ones.

    1. Danielle,
Too funny! I was just in Target earlier this week and saw those shoes! Instantly fell in love. Of course they didn't have my size in ANY color! I went home and ordered the navy, black, and pink. If they fit I will probably order the other colors too. They are so cute!

  3. Kate. I just did this last year. #shoeadaychallenge I loved it. I rediscovered so many pairs I loved and posted a different shoe pick everyday. I also updated the blog once a week with all the new pics. It definetely led me to donate a bunch of pairs!

  4. Not a fan of a shoes?! Not a fan of shoes?! I feel like that's some sort of heresy.

    1. It is mostly because I have big feet so I can't always find my size (10) and since I'm tall I really prefer to wear flats. Definitely more limited if you only wear flats!
