Nautical Outfit of the Week: Belles in Bows

This week I am featuring Bess of Belles in Bows. Bess writes, "I wanted to create a look that could transition from that late-summer to fall so I decided upon a white oxford, tartan plaid Southern Proper hat, and Sperries. I kept the jewelry fun and light with some thin, gold Fornash bangles and my favorite Vickers bow!"

Back to School: Boys

Let's hear it for the boys (sorry couldn't resist!). I am sharing my favorite nautical tops for boys, both short sleeve and long sleeve. Plus I added three looks with a fun lobster shirt.

Nautical by Nature | Back to School: Boys nautical clothing

Row 1: Intarsia anchor sweater, J.Crew Factory, $46 | Sail blue shark tee, Lands' End, $17 | Nordsee Schiff graphic tee, Tea Collection, $23
Row 2: Camo shark tee, Lands' End, $17 | Maritime stripe pocket tee, Tea Collection, $23 | Long sleeve block super tee, Lands' End, $18
Row 3: Rugged for keeps sweatshirt, Hanna Andersson, $42 | Stripe anchor storybook tee, J.Crew Factory, $21 | Get appy tee, Hanna Andersson, $32

How cute is this lobster shirt?! While it is still warm you can pair it with shorts. As it gets cooler, and depending on your child's style, you can pair it with khakis, sweats, or cords!

Big applique shirt t shirt, Boden $30
Lived in khakis, Gap, $35 | Graphic heathered sweatpant, J.Crew Factory, $35 | Straight cords, Gap, $35

I loved the rope pulls on this built in dresser
The master bedroom and bedroom #1 both open onto the back porch/pool area. Quite a view from bed! I will be sharing the backyard/pool area next week.

Back to School: Girls

I love the look (and ease) of dresses + leggings for school. Warmer weather you can skip the leggings and just put little shorts under and then as it cools down you can add leggings or thick tights. I really wish all of these dresses were made in adult sizes!

Nautical by Nature | Back to School: Girls nautical clothing

Row 1: Take a bow dress, Hanna Andersson, $35 | Anchor polo dress (8-16), Nautica, $50 (sizes 2T-7, $48) | Stripe sweatshirt dress, J.Crew Factory, $37
Row 2: Crochet twirl dress, Hanna Andersson, $49 | Indigo stripe drawstring dress, Gap, $27 | It’s A Playdress, It’s A Daydress, Hanna Andersson, $39

Not into dresses? These tops would look adorable with leggings, jeans, or cords. Or you can go with a nautical top, fun skirt, and leggings under! I also included a sweatshirt (available in red and navy too) and a terry jacket that I seriously want for myself!

Nautical by Nature | Back to School: Girls nautical clothing

Row 1: Pretty collar top, Boden, $30 | Anchor stripe long sleeve tee, Nautica, sizes 8-16, $40 (sizes 2T-7, $37) | Contrast stripe tee, J.Crew Factory, $30
Row 2: Rugged for keeps sweatshirt, Hanna Andersson, $34 | Coastal printed top, Joules, $18 | French terry jacket, Hanna Andersson, $55
Row 3: Stripe drawstring skirt, J.Crew Factory, $20 | Bow skirt, J.Crew Factory, $30 | Good stretch scooter skirt, Hanna Andersson, $35

Coastal Living Showhouse Coronado Island

Last week during my staycation my mom and I drove down to Coronado Island to see the 2014 Coastal Living Magazine Showhouse. It was AMAZING! I wish I could move in. Or stay all day ;)

The house is huge so I am going to have to break this into multiple blog posts. I am going to start with the first floor and then make my way up and then down to the basement. First floor has: office, laundry room, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a powder room. Second floor: kitchen, living room/dining room, family room/rec room, powder room, and sun deck. The basement has: a kitchenette, rec room, one powder room, one bathroom, and one bedroom (with two sets of queen bunkbeds!)

SO EXCITED! This is the house from across the street/the side
