I love this blue dress! I think it would be perfect for spring and summer. Dress it up with heels for a nautical wedding or go for a casual look with sandals. The anchor sweatshirt and t shirt will go great with jeans now and then shorts this summer.
Striped lace up espadrilles, $16 (also available in red)
Set sail ankle socks, $1.50
Whale ankle socks, $2.90 (available in four colors)

Visit to the Forevermark Diamonds Oscar Suite 2015
![]() |
| This is the 55 carat necklace that actress Margot Robbie wore to last year's Academy Awards |
Last week I went to the Forevermark Diamonds Oscar suite. I went last year too and it is a dream come true-trying on diamond after diamond? Sign me up! Just less than one percent of the world's diamonds are eligible to become a Forevermark diamond. Forevermark diamonds are responsibly sourced. That is very, very important! Responsibly sourced means the diamonds only come from sources which are committed to high business, social, and environmental standards AND benefit the people, communities, and countries from which they are from.
Several stars wore Forevermark Diamonds on the red carpet this year. You can see their red carpet looks in my Oscar recap post here.

My Oscar Party 2015
As usual I forgot to take a few photos. Oops! I don't have any of the the food and desserts but everything was delicious. Check out my thoughts on this year's Academy Awards and red carpet looks here.

The Oscars!
I will be doing additional posts on my party and my visit to the Forevermark Diamonds Oscar Suite. But for now I wanted to share my initial thoughts on the award show last night. It is always more fun to watch with a group I think.
I thought the opening number was great. But NPH was overall not as funny as I had hoped. His improvised jokes were hilarious. But the predictions in the box? That was boring and time consuming.
Gaga-AMAZING! And Julie Andrews is my hero. I love that lady!
John Travolta looked weird and acted creepy. I couldn't tell if the face touching was a joke?
Ansel Elgort-so handsome. I am counting down the days until Insurgent!
I thought Jennifer Aniston and Zoe Saldana looked beautiful. Both picked flattering dresses and just rocked it when they presented.
I liked the following dresses: Rosamund Pike, Emma Stone (she can do no wrong in my mind-total girl crush on her), Jenna Dewan-Tatum, Anna Kendrick, Dakota Johnson
Keira Knightley looks so pretty with a little more weight on her face
Did not like these dresses: Reese Witherspoon, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jessica Chastain, Nicole Kidman (as soon as I saw the comparison photo with the bowling pin I couldn't stop thinking of that), Scarlett Johansson (ALIEN!), Marion Cotillard (so not flattering on her)

Friday Favorite: Oscars
![]() |
| Image via DIY Oscar crafts from Fiskars |
I can't believe The Oscars are this Sunday! I always have people over and it's my favorite event to decorate for. You can see posts on my past parties (2014, 2013, and 2012) and my Pinterest board for more inspiration.
I always have ballots and there is a prize for the winner (giftcard to the movies). I never do well because I am too personally invested in the movies. The people that have seen the fewest nominated movies always do the best-they are just randomly guessing or going on buzz they heard!

Fake Prom on Valentine's Day
Valentine's Day was pretty perfect this year. I slept in and then went to see the documentary, Ballet 422 with my parents. I can't dance but man, I love watching people who can! After the movie I relaxed at home and then headed to prom with friends. Unique USA put on its 3rd annual Fake Prom downtown. The theme this year was Back to the Future's "Enchantment Under the Sea." There was a dj and dancing, a photobooth, DIY corsage/boutonniere station, and because we are out of high school, a bar! I hate to even mention this because of the awful weather back east BUT the outdoor space was maybe my favorite part. The bar was outside along with a food truck, singles lounge, and the DeLorean (see below). No heat lamps or jackets needed for most of the night (after dancing we came outside and the temperature had dropped quite a bit though).
I wore my Boden dress that I have worn for every major event since I bought it (ha). I love this dress!
The awkward prom poses in the photobooth were just hilarious. Some of the couples really got it spot on. Here was our awkward pose:
