Favorite Lilly Pulitzer Nautical Prints

When I do a collection post (like nautical sweaters) I try to include items from every price range. Endless Love

Who else saw the movie this weekend?! Kind of perfect for Valentine's Day I think.

I actually wanted to post photos of the family's lake house (so nautical) but couldn't find any online. Once I have it on DVD I can take screenshots I guess. I love cheesy romantic movies, possibly more than I love romantic comedies (definitely a toss up though). Endless Love did not disappoint (so cheesy, so romantic). A few months ago I went to the movies with friends and saw the initial trailer. They totally made it look like a romantic thriller (a la Fear, they even had the main character named David!). Here is a link to that trailer (seriously watch it and see the difference!). But then they updated the preview as it got closer to Valentine's Day and the newer version showed a straight up romance (what I prefer but some of my friends really wanted the thriller). It's amazing that switching the songs and editing things differently can completely change what you think the movie is about. I actually asked about this on twitter and a lot of people agreed-it was like they were trying to appeal to two completely different audiences! I will say that I have not read the book or seen the original movie (from 1981). Apparently in the book and original movie the plot is slightly different and a bit more like Fear (as in guy going crazy/stalking).

I've liked Alex Pettyfer since he was in the super cute teen movie Wild Child with Emma Roberts. I saw Magic Mike for him (I do not find Channing Tatum attractive. At all). Anyway his hair is kind of a mess in Endless Love but I still think he is so handsome.

His wardrobe in this movie is possibly even worse than his hair. Yikes

Happy Valentine's Day!

My mom found this little heart cardigan and it is the perfect size for AJS. I think it might have been for a doll. It is tiny! Can't believe this guy is a month old today!

I re-discovered these tiny Valentines I had from a couple of years ago. I didn't have time to send them out though. Next year!

Beau & Ro Bags

The bags are made exclusively in New York City. From designer and founder, Sara Rossi, "I created Beau & Ro to alleviate the pressure of having to make a choice. Versatility and functionality should go hand in hand with style." Sara is a New England native who now resides in lower Manhattan. Many of the designs have a nautical theme. For example, the Ruffian is actually named after Sara's parents sailboat. Sara's parents met sailing and that was a bit of the inspiration behind the hands fee concept!

All of the Beau & Ro bags measure 6 x 8 inches and include an inside pocket so you can keep everything you need within reach. The belt measures 45” from end to end. Something like this would have come in handy during all of outings as a nanny, especially at the park! Being able to have both of my hands free (and not having a bulky bag falling off my shoulder) is ideal! I also think the Beau & Ro bag would be perfect for travel. I hate having to dig around for my ID and money when I am at the airport. Going through security would be a breeze! The Ruffian bag is made of defunct naval flags from a US Navy ship. Sara's dad was a lieutenant in the navy so it's a little nod to him! It has a vinyl liner so that it is waterproof.
