Nautical Photo of the Week: First Birthday Party!

This week I am featuring the nautical first birthday party that Mel from the Larson Lingo threw her son, Luke, earlier this summer. You can read more about the party and see even more photos over at Mel's blog.

Melissa designed the invitation and you can find it in her Etsy store

Big News from Baby Nautical

Exactly two years ago I posted a video announcing my sister's pregnancy with Baby Nautical. This time I don't have a video, just Baby Nautical

Baby Nautical will be getting a little brother in January 2014

And yes, he will definitely be wearing this:

Fall Inspiration: Boden

I love Boden (and Mini Boden). My favorite shoes are from Boden (Dalmatian spot ballet flats with red bows) and I have some tops and cardigans. The products are high quality (especially important for the mini collection, both H and Baby Nautical live in their stripy shorts). There are so many classic looks in their fall collection.

A striped long sleeved dress for fall is essential

Boulevard Tunic Dress:

I love the pop of pink with this black and white dress

This simple red dress can be dressed down for daytimes or add some heels and accessories and it's perfect for the holidays

Daisy jacquard dress:

The colors this dress comes in are great for fall-nothing too bright but not the typical muted fall colors you usually see

Vanessa dress

A floral dress for fall will definitely make you stand out!

I don't think mustard looks very good on me but I love it with this navy bottom

Cashmere crewneck cardigan

Can't go wrong with pink!

This sweater is already on backorder and I can see why! Pink + navy stripes!

Labor Day Weekend Recap

I can't believe it's the last weekend of summer (well with the hot weather we have in September and October I see Labor Day as the unofficial end to summer). I had a busy weekend with friends!

Friday night
I had A and Brooke over for dinner and a movie night to celebrate A's birthday. I had never seen When Harry Met Sally and Brooke had never seen Sleepless in Seattle (we had been talking about Meg Ryan movies earlier in the summer)

Saturday
I had breakfast at Solley's with a nanny friend, S, that is in town from her job in Toronto. You can never go wrong with chocolate chip pancakes! Then I did some stuff around my apartment and had lunch at my dad's. I caught up on my DVR in the afternoon before dinner with my high school friends M and C, who recently moved to Dallas. We went to newly remodeled Ugo to try out their new pizza oven.

Sunday
Brooke, A, and I went to a Dodger game where they showed The Sandlot after. It was beyond hot out and we were sitting in the sun the whole time. But it was still fun and definitely worth it because we got to watch the movie from the field. We also got our ticket stubs signed by the cast.
I had the worst hat hair-should have kept the hat on!

When we got back to my apartment we went for a swim in my pool. It felt so nice to rinse off (layers of sunscreen and sweat!) and cool down

Monday
I slept in and went to see Afternoon Delight with my dad and stepmom. I was supposed to go to my sister's for a BBQ but Baby Nautical is sick so I ended up just relaxing at home.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend!
