Just in time for the holidays! One lucky reader will receive a set of three items (Scrub, Souffle, & Dry Oil Spray) in "I'm Not Here, I'm Really...vacationing in a quaint seaside village!" You'll feel like you are relaxing by the sea! I just love the description of this scent: "Luffing sails in the distance. Idyllic coastal scenery. Cycling through town, I feel as if I’ve stepped back in time. Historic lighthouses dot the landscape. I may even watch a whale. I am calmed, charmed, delighted"

Scrub: Exfoliating, moisturizing, life-enriching sugared body polish with cranberry seed How to make this happen: During bath or shower, apply a small handful to damp skin and gently massage in circular motion. Dry skin done, gone—your skin will be radiant, exceptionally smooth, beautiful. Perfect to use before shaving.

2. Dry Oil Spray: Glistening, hydrating, life-altering JUST GLOW How to make this happen: Gently mist this blend of exotic fragrances and essential oils all over for lit-from-within, sensuous, silky skin. Use as a room spray too!)

My Apartment: Decals part 2

Here are the decals I have in my bathroom. For the decals in the rest of my apartment go to this post. The main problem with white walls: photos with flash on look way too bright so these are taken without a flash (so colors aren't as bright so just imagine a pinker pink ;)

Seahorse and name decal from Decal Monograms. This bucket holds handtowels and washcloths.

Lilly Pulitzer decals

This heart decal came as an example/practice decal with one of my orders. I put it on the mirror by the sink in my bathroom.

Vineyard Vines/wedding outfits

As I have mentioned before (here) my sister is having a winter wedding. I have been looking around for things to wear. We will be spending a week at our destination so I need outfits for: bachelorette night, rehearsal dinner, wedding and New Year's Eve. PLUS I need outfits for the reception here in LA (there's also a dinner for out of town guests the night before). Obviously I am NOT going to buy new things for all of these events! BUT I could use a couple of nice dresses and going out tops. I already found one black Lilly dress that I love (see it here).

I was so excited when I got the email about the Vineyard Vines friends and family sale! I had admired this dress and top in the catalog. I have no idea how they will fit/look in person but I am hoping I love them both. I also bought the adorable whale ornament for my nautical Christmas tree.

Let's get down to business: what do you want to see on this blog?

I still can't believe I have been blogging for 3 years! We've done our celebrating (the giveaways are open until Thursday night) so now it is time to get to work!

I have added a poll in the left sidebar. Please vote! What kind of posts do YOU want to read on Nautical by Nature? Leave comments on this post with any options I forgot to include, general feedback, criticisms, suggestions, etc.

Also I now have a Tumblr. There will be some overlap but the Tumblr will be for nautical things I see out and about, nautical outfits on TV, etc. Anything really important will be posted on both blogs :) There have been so many times that I want to post multiple things on the blog but I do not want to overpost and back up your google reader! Some examples of potential Tumblr posts: Blair wearing something nautical on Gossip Girl, anchor spotted while shopping, Baby H in a nautical outfit, nautical quote from a book or movie.

Let's CELEBRATE!

3 years ago this week I started Nautical by Nature. My first post was actually on November 12, 2007 but why not celebrate for a whole week??? Get ready for a week of fun giveaways! I want to thank you all for supporting Nautical by Nature!

I can't believe it has been 3 years! I started this blog as an online wishlist. I just wanted to post about my shopping finds. Nautical by Nature is so much more now! This blog is my baby. Minus a few days of vacation I have tried to blog at least 5 days a week (as soon as I started using statcounter I realized no one was really reading on the weekends so I stopped blogging weekends). I love blogging. I don't want to get too sappy but this blog means so much to me! I love the emails, comments, cards, and packages. My favorite emails are the ones that start out like this "I was at ____ (insert store name) and saw the cutest nautical ____ and thought of you!" I am so beyond flattered that I have hundreds of personal shoppers out there! Oh and shoutout to the Delta Gamma girls and other nautical obsessed readers that send me tons of photos and ideas! Keep them coming!

I have made so many blog and real life friends through Nautical by Nature. During the past three years you have gone all over the world with me: from the really fun (semester in Australia, trips to Las Vegas, Mediterranean cruise) to the not so fun (cross country move, my dog's death, post-college unemployment). My readers are the BEST!

Anchors aweigh!

Nautical Outfit of the Week: Halloween!

I really wanted to be a sailor for Halloween! But I waited until the last minute and couldn't find a dress***. So I am living vicariously through my readers ;)

Here is Michele, owner of the nautical Etsy store, Seachele Studios.

Michele paired a store-bought Navy Girl Halloween costume with her own navy blue heels, a string of pearls and red lipstick for a little retro flair! Her grandfather was a Navy Submariner in World War II and so nautical runs in the family!

***obviously I own nautical clothing but I wanted to go for a certain look
