Sun Valley recap

I had a great time on our family trip to Sun Valley. My family has been going to Sun Valley long before I was born (over 30 years at this point!) and I have so many wonderful memories from childhood trips.

The lodge with gorgeous flowers in front!

Sun Valley is the perfect place for family vacations! When we were little we built forts in the trees, raced sticks in the streams, and rode our bikes for hours!
Stream outside our house:

Now that I am older I love to just sit outside and people watch! Baby Nautical loved watching the ducks in the pond and kids ice skating (there is an outdoor ice skating rink).

In August they have a free symphony on the grass. We set up chairs, enjoyed the music, and watched tons and tons of kids run around. There are adorable kids and the cutest dogs EVERYWHERE in Sun Valley!

View from the house:

Pretty flowers everywhere!

(not sure what happened with the lighting on this photo from my ipod touch-my hands and feet look super white while the rest of me looks tan. HA!)

The view on my run:

The back of the lodge:

Flowers, streams, and ponds!

The ice show is so fun! Skating under the stars!

Today I am sharing Payton's 3rd birthday party on the blog. Payton's mom, Amanda, used to blog as Pink Cashmere Cardigan. I am hoping she will make her blog come back soon but until then I am sharing her nautical photos (I featured her son Ryan here back in the day).

New blog design!

I am excited to announce that I have a new blog design! If you are reading in google reader click on through to see the updated design! Blair of Leap Marketing and Design helped update Nautical by Nature and she gave me a fancy About Me page too! I was pretty indecisive and wasn't exactly sure what I wanted. Blair basically read my mind! I love the colors she chose for the updated header. And the stripes=nautical perfection! I highly recommend Blair if you are looking for a blog designer! You can see her portfolio here.

I am still working out some kinks in the layout (I'll probably move the labels to the footer) but I am hoping you all love the new layout as much as I do! I want it to be easy to navigate. Let me know what you think!

Elephants!

If I ever open a store I would call it Anchors and Elephants. My two loves! I am seeing elephants everywhere!

The Power of the Plain White Tee

For all of high school and the majority of college I lived in polo shirts. I felt like they were the most flattering on me and I just like the look of a polo shirt. Last Thanksgiving I went to visit my sister in DC and borrowed one of her Madewell v-neck pocket tee. The next day I went to Madewell in Georgetown and bought my own! I now own two white, grey, and red. Pink and navy are on my wishlist. So comfortable and I think they are just as flattering as my beloved polo shirts! I've heard that Old Navy has similar ones (for a lot cheaper) but I haven't tried them yet.
Do you have a go to t shirt?

I actually don't have many photos of me in the t shirts (I'm pretty bad about doing OOTD photos) but I basically live in them on the weekends!

I love the crisp white with jeans or some J.Crew colored shorts. But there are so many bright color options too!

Today I am linking up for Friday's Fancies on Long Distance Loving

I loved sending paper invitations for parties but with a busy job and little free time I started using Evite instead. I have found fun designs for my Oscar party, Halloween, and Valentine's Day. Evite has a new category of nautical designs. I was planning on having a nautical party this month-I am even more determined now that I have seen these nautical invitations!

Evite invitations are free to send and receive! Have you ever used Evite?

Here are some of the nautical designs:

**Please note: this is NOT a sponsored post! I just wanted to share some nautical deigns!**
