My Inauguration Experience 4 Years Ago

I thought it would be fun to repost the photos I shared 4 years ago (seems like just yesterday!). At the time I was interning at the federal courthouse (Prettyman Courthouse) which was right on the parade route. I, along with 3 friends, slept overnight in the cafeteria to secure our amazing (inside) viewing spot. It was especially cold that year so we were very lucky to be inside. It was an experience I will never forget!

Here's what I wrote 4 years ago!

Nautical Photo of the Week: Nautical Master Bedroom

Today I am featuring Lindsay of Lindsay's Look. Here is a photo of Lindsay in her nautical best:

Lindsay and her husband have a nautical bedroom. Lindsay writes, "When my husband and I moved in together, we struggled on how to decorate our bedroom cohesively. He came up with the idea to do a deep navy wall, and it occurred to me that a nautical bedroom would be the ideal way to blend masculine and feminine and have it be something that both of us like."

- The picture over by the window is a painting of a boat near a dock next to a barn or something in the winter. This is one of the finds scored by Lindsay's husband on one of his "picking" excursions (i.e. yardsale).

Organizing: Magazines

I used to hoard magazines. I admit it. But they take up a lot of room and I never actually reread them. I started a new system when I moved into my last apartment. I do still keep some magazines but only if I will truly reread the whole thing. As I read a magazine I tear out pages that I want to keep (recipes, decorating tips, etc). Sometimes I fold down the pages or use post its if I am not at home. Whatever works! Then I tape the clippings onto paper, slide them into those page protector things, and into a binder organized by topics (well I try at least-I haven't put actual dividers or anything fancy yet). Everything in one place!
