Lacoste: All Aboard

How cute is the photo on the Lacoste homepage?

Pink and white striped skirt:

A bit pricey for a pair of shorts but the navy and white combo is perfect for spring:

I have always wanted a pink Lacoste watch. Let's hope one of these goes on sale!

NCIS event recap

*this is pretty long but I did include photos of hot actors ;)*

Monday night Angela and I went to the NCIS PaleyFest event. We were able to watch last night's episode, which was great (they only showed a clip at the Lost event, for obvious reasons)! After the Q & A portion Angela and I headed to the stage to see if we could get autographs/photos with the cast. **Normally I do not ask celebrities for autographs or photos (when I see an actor at the mall or singer at the airport, for example) but at events like this I go for it (along with every other audience member, hahaha).

I couldn't believe how quickly everyone rushed the stage! So many people were pushing and not even caring that they were literally on top of other people! There was one guy who was especially aggressive and I was so annoyed that he was just getting photos signed to sell on ebay! UGH! I just want something to put in my scrapbook-I don't need 10 photos signed!

Total mob scene!

SO Angela and I waited patiently while all the rude pushy people shoved their way through. Well then Michael Weathe*rly came over to where Angela and I were waiting. Everyone else was shoving their huge 8 x10 photos in his face. I just smiled. He looked right at me, took the ticket and said "A ticket stub. A bit more original than those photos" (or something like that-I could barely concentrate!). I think I even said "And I am not selling this on ebay." He smiled*. AMAZING. Really. He is even cuter in person (and just as witty/funny as Tony). Then I remembered Angela behind me (this is one of those times where I was so glad to be tall-I think that is how he could see me!)-she probably would have killed me if I had forgotten to get hers signed too. So I took Angela's ticket and politely asked if he could sign my short friend's ticket too**. Ok I probably wasn't thinking straight but it worked and he laughed (swoon) and I passed the ticket forward. So with some patience and big smiles Angela and I succeeded! ***

* I think there could have been a bit more to the conversation but I was so excited I really can't remember what was said!
**I didn't want him to think I was just being greedy like those ebay people. Fortunately I think he could see Angela behind me too so she'll forgive me for calling her my "short friend" ;)
***Angela has been super busy at work so she INSISTED I write a very detailed description of this. Then I couldn't find my camera cord to upload photos so Angela actually posted before I did (I wrote this the night of though)

You can't use a flash during the panel so the zoomed photos look a little off

Bringing back the weekend recap

Friday:
Went to see Shutter Island. I thought it was a horror movie/something I wouldn't want to see so I let my dad tell me the twist (don't worry I won't spoil it!). Since it is actually more of a psychological thriller I decided to check it out. I was glad I knew the twist before I saw it. But I am the type of person that usually reads TV spoilers and flips to the back of a book ;) For dinner we went to El Sombrero in Manhattan Beach. Seriously one of the best quesadillas I have ever had!

Saturday:

Went to brunch at Cafe Montana with some relatives who were in town. I thought about popping into Cabana but it was pouring and I was wearing flip flops and no outer layer (weather.com said 30% chance of rain so I stupidly risked it). Next we headed to Brentwood Country Mart. I will be featuring a favorite store from there later this week.

Saturday night was amazing. I know there are a few LOST fans out there reading. I went to the LOST panel that was part of this year's PaleyFest. The actors who play Locke, Ben, and Richard, along with the creative team (writers and producers), were all there in person. There are great recaps HERE and HERE. I thought Ter*ry O'Quinn (Locke) and Michael Eme*rson (Ben) were really funny together. I hope the rumor of them reuniting on a new show is true! Here are some photos I took:

Sunday:
I finally went through the huge box of paperwork, cards/letters, and photos that has been sitting in my hallway for months. I am not a procrastinator when it comes to schoolwork but I will always put off things like this (I STILL haven't started my Australia scrapbook!). As a reward I went to Yogurtland YUM!

What's on my bulletin board

I thought it would be fun to show my favorite wall decorations: my bulletin boards! Click on the photos to make them bigger.

Board 1:
Doesn't really change much (hasn't changed since I added a graduation card in May). I've kept it the same for awhile now and I probably won't change it very often. I put star wrapping paper over the cork as a background. Highlights include: collection of elephant photos, a picture of JT dancing (top left), a bunch of random what your name means type cards (my favorite is in the bottom left corner), the collage M made me for my 22nd birthday (behind my polka dot necklace holder)

Board 2:
This is my Vera Bradley memo board (thanks TJ Maxx!). The photos don't really change but the cards and letters change every few weeks.

I hang a ribbon above my desk and attach seasonal cards. Here are some of my valentines:

New York trip recap

FRIDAY:
Slept in because our plane had been delayed on Thursday and we got in pretty late at night. We had a quick (late) lunch at our hotel and headed to Lilly Pulitzer. I bought this pink polo and some stationery and cups in the Later Gator pattern.

Then we headed to afternoon tea at Alice's Tea Cup. I went there on my last trip and wanted to take my mom (she loved it of course!). After tea my sister finally arrived from DC (so glad she made it out!). We went to dinner at Toloache, which was just a quick walk from our hotel (in the freezing COLD) ;)

SATURDAY:
We got up bright and early for our day of shopping in SoHo. First stop: Uniqlo. I was sad they didn't have my favorite jeans anymore but I did get some new cords for under $10! We also checked out Kate's Paperie, A.P.C, and Calypso (to name a few).

Hearts painted on the sidewalk for Vday:

LOVE:

We ate lunch at Balthazar where I had delicious macaroni and cheese.
Dinner was at Cascina which was super close to the theater where we saw Hair after.

SUNDAY:
We picked up breakfast to go from Amy's Bread and sat in Central Park, across from the Frick Collection (we wanted to be there right when it opened!). The park looked so pretty with the snow!

I loved the Frick Collection-the perfect size. I had studied many of the pieces in my art history class so it was exciting to see them in person. Next we headed to Bendel's and Bergdorf Goodman. I love to just browse these huge stores!

My sister and mom went to the ballet (Swan Lake) but I didn't go (long story short I wasn't sure I was going on the trip so they only got 2 tickets). I took a LONG walk around Penn Station (I was picking up my sister's train ticket) and found the Filene's Basement that JGIWC recommended. I found a Vineyard Vines anchor skirt for $10!

For our Valentine's Day dinner we went to Nougatine at Jean Georges. I wish I had taken a photo of the pink marshmallows-they were so good! This is the only photo I took (the first part of our dessert):

(heart shaped of course)
