Nautical Honeymoons

I was a guest blogger over at Muffy Martini's blog while she was on her honeymoon! I am reblogging my nautical honeymoon ideas.

It was nearly impossible to narrow down my list to just 5 but I did it!

The Boatshed
Where: Auckland, New Zealand
http://boatshed.co.nz/
Style: Nautical chic, beachside bliss

There are three separate accommodation options: The Boatsheds (suites are reminiscent of seaside cottages and lazy days on the beach - designed to pamper), the Lighthouse (three storey retreat captures the romance of a traditional lighthouse), and the Bridge (the perfect place to while away an afternoon with a good book and a glass of wine) (credit: mrandmrssmith.com)

Activities: Walk along the golden sand beaches, explore nearby vineyards, check out local antique and craft stores

Bells at Killcare
Where: Central Coast, NSW, Australia
http://www.bellsatkillcare.com.au/
Style: Bold classy coastal

Bells at Killcare takes the best of country, coastal and city chic to make a boutique bouillabaisse which is part hotel, part chef's-hatted-restaurant, part private retreat. Stefano Manfredi brings New Italian heartiness to the kitchen, while classic Australia awaits on the surf beaches and walking trails of the surrounding Bouddi National Park” (credit: mrandmrssmith.com)

Activities: Swimming/surfing at local Killcare beach, bush walking in nearby Bouddi National Park

Cocoa Island
Where: Maldives, Indian Ocean
http://www.cocoaisland.como.bz/
Style: Faraway island fantasy

“Beautifully designed, this resort in the Maldives is the embodiment of understated elegance. Resembling a collection of Keralan boathouses, the individual over-water villas have soothing white-on-white interiors and teak flooring to create an ambiance of laid-back romance” (credit: mrandmrssmith.com)

Activities: Snorkeling, scuba diving, yoga, windsurfing

Sun Rocks
Where: Santorini, Greece
http://www.sunrocks.gr/
Style: Honeymooners' paradise, carved from the caldera basin

“Carved out of the caldera's basin, with astonishing views of the volcanic islands and the Aegean sea, Sun Rocks is exclusively for couples. It provides luxurious accommodation, combining Cycladic tradition with modern-day comforts. The sunsets are spellbinding” (credit: mrandmrssmith.com)

Activities: Swimming in cliffside pool, snorkeling, scuba diving, wine tastings

La Minervetta
Where: Sorrento, Italy
http://www.laminervetta.com/index_ing.htm
Style: Quirky nautical

“La Minervetta clings to the cliffs of Sorrento on the Amalfi coast with spectacular views of the Bay of Naples from the pool and sun terrace. All rooms are sea-facing with floor-to-ceiling windows” (credit: mrandmrssmith.com)

Activities: Swimming, shopping, concerts at Villa Communale park
