Nautical Photo of the Week: Baby Girl Pink and Navy Shower

This week I am featuring the nautical baby shower of reader Laura. Laura is expecting a baby girl next month and she had a pink and navy nautical shower.

Laura's mother hand painted all those little nautical ornaments! Since there were so many Laura strung them on rope to make a garland for the nursery (I will be sharing those photos too)

Nautical Ornament: Paper Source

I am kicking off my nautical ornament posts a little bit earlier this year so that I have time to share all of my finds before Christmas.

Smathers & Branson GIVEAWAY!

Today I am partnering with Smathers & Branson to give one lucky reader this rainbow fleet needlepoint card wallet!
Smathers & Branson rainbow fleet needlepoint card wallet

This card wallet is hand-stitched needlepoint. This slimmer wallet style (4” by 3”) provides enough room for cards, cash, metro card, and an ID, but does not take up too much room in your pocket or bag. Great for a night out (no bulky wallet) or every day use.

DIY Nautical Ornaments

I am starting to think about my nautical Christmas tree and this year I am going to attempt to make a few ornaments. Yesterday I went to Michaels to get two prints framed, pick up spray paint for the TV tray redo, and get supplies for the ornaments. The store was a zoo! I've never seen it so packed. I am going to go back while H is in school because the weekend crowds were too crazy.

Here are some ideas I have seen. If you have any other DIY ideas please leave a comment because I would like to attempt more crafting!

Samanthology has directions for 4 DIY nautical ornaments. I think the starfish Santa is just adorable!

Lemon and Line Boat Bag

Lemon and Line

I have posted about Lemon & Line nautical bracelets many times before. Now Lemon & Line has introduced their Boat Bag.

Lemon & Line Boat Bag

"A nautical twist on the traditional canvas tote. Heavy weight natural canvas paired with a navy waxed canvas bottom & lip."
The Boat Bag features: solid brass snap closure and grommets, marine grade double braid line handles (to match your Lemon & Line bracelet), anchor fabric lining, and three interior pockets (absolutely essential in my opinion). Best of all the Boat Bag is made in America!

DIY Nautical Tray (part 1)

I am not crafty. Sticking some washi tape on a box is about as crafty as I get. But I saw this on Pinterest and knew I wanted to attempt it. The original pin is from Apartment Therapy.

Here's a bigger photo of the after (I hate that you can't change the image size when you embed a pin!):
DIY Nautical TV tray from Apartment Therapy

I actually have two tv trays that I use daily. One is red and one is plain wood. I think I am going to keep the red one red but I will spray paint the other one blue like the one shown above. I think I am only going to add the rope to one but maybe I'll do something with red one too. Not sure if it's too much to have them both decorated with the rope. A bit overboard maybe ;)

The Company Store 20% off + Nautical Finds

Right now The Company Store is offering 20% off AND free shipping with code: PRES1320 (exp 11/6). I just bought a set of monogrammed towels for my grandma. She specifically needed monogrammed washcloths to make it easier for her assisted living facility to keep track of each person's towels. I searched and searched for monogrammed washcloths but many stores (like Pottery Barn and Garnet Hill) do not offer monogramming on washcloths. The Company Store does! I got my grandma a set in leaf (she loves green) with a white monogram. You can preview what the monogram will look like before you buy it. Best of all: monogramming is free right now!

I also bought something for myself that I had mentioned in my bathroom makeover post: the ribbon square bath rug.

I got it in this color:

But it also comes in coral:
